Do You Struggle To Get What You Want?

Do you struggle to get what you want or to achieve your goals? Do things seem to be harder for you than for others? Do you often feel like you are swimming against the tide?

If any of these ring true for you, it may just be that you need to make a slight shift to your mindset around manifestation, or getting what you want, in order to make it easier for you to achieve it.

Having a clear intention is the first step to manifesting what you want in life and business. When I talk about manifestation, I am meaning the transition of something that was previously just a thought or idea into a real tangible thing or experience.

Lots of the things I set out at the beginning of the year with the intention of achieving have happened. If I had not set those intentions then I would not have been open to the opportunities and routes that opened up in my path that would take me forwards towards those goals. I would most likely have shrugged off or even not noticed these opportunities as I would not have been ready to see them, let alone take the actions needed to move them forward.

I have recently noticed evidence of manifestation in many ways, large and small, that have occurred in my life this year.

A recent example: as I sat relaxing one evening I looked down and noticed my new bag that I received as a birthday present from a friend. And I realised that I had manifested this bag. It was exactly the size and style of bag I had recently made a firm mental note to start looking for. Now I hadn't specified colour or make, other than for it to compliment the sort of colours I already wear, but I did have an idea of style and capacity, and it matched all of those perfectly.

Now you could say that I didn't actually manifest it as it was a gift from someone else, however that friend did not know I was looking for a new bag. And manifesting, or having what you want, is really that simple. You identify what you want and are open to receiving it. You don't need to specify exactly how you're going to get it as that can be worked out as you go. So sometimes things just turn up. Other times it takes more proactive action in order to create or enable them.

There is a thinking that we manifest everything in our lives. And I mean everything. That we bring it about by the thoughts we think and our feelings and intentions.

I have found elements of this topic really click for me recently and move on to a deeper level of understanding. I haven't fully processed this into a form that I can easily communicate about and share with you just yet. However I will say this: If you create your reality, then make sure it is a good one for you!

Here are few tips to help with getting the right mindset to manifest what you want:

  • Eliminate the word 'can't' from your vocabulary.
  • Think about things from the perspective of what you want rather than what you don't want. Whenever you notice you are focussing on what you don't want, ask yourself 'what do I want instead?'
  • Stop moaning or complaining about things. If you notice you're doing it - stop.
  • Stop being derogatory about yourself. Choose to be more kind and compassionate with yourself.
  • Look for evidence of when you have experienced manifesting what you want.
  • Practice gratitude.

Manifesting is something that some of us seem to do quite naturally, however for others of us it doesn't seem to be quite so easy. This could be down to needing just a few mindset tweaks, so I hope the tips above give you a starting point for shifting into a mindset where manifesting what you want will come easily to you.

Remember that you need to also set your intentions - so know what you want; be open to how it will happen; and then take action once a path forwards is clear.
