Why You Don’t Feel Free

Next door to where I lived in my last home there were loads of birds caged in the garden. I could see them from my window. I would often see them frantically flapping their wings wanting to be free to fly.

The thought of this makes me feel quite sad because I believe birds are meant to be free and are meant to fly.

I feel the same about us. We are meant to feel free. We’re meant to feel like we are flying. That we are soaring as we live our lives. That we are feeling passionate and inspired and fulfilled doing whatever it is we are choosing to do.

But the frustrating thing with us humans is that we choose our cages and we choose to stay in them.

Now I know that might sound controversial if you do genuinely feel stuck and trapped. But I know from personal experience, and the work I do with clients, that we always have a choice. Always. You might not always like the potential consequences of your options but you always have a choice.

The cages that we live in are usually created within ourselves first and then manifested into the life around us. So it’s created in all the layers of how we think, how we feel, our patterns of behaviour and what’s going on in our energy.

This usually happens subconsciously so most people don’t know that they have a choice about this stuff. They don’t know that they don’t have to continue living feeling trapped or stuck. That all of this can be changed.

Amazingly it can often be changed often without changing anything in your external world.

And it can be done without years of therapy and delving into the story and going back to that time in your past that was painful. This can be done by shifting the energy of what is coming up for you right now.

I know because I have done it. I have made the transition from feeling trapped within my life, trapped within myself, thinking it was normal to live with this unhappiness… To feeling the freest and happiest I have ever felt in my life!

I did this by firstly committing to changing my experience of life to something better. And I then consistently applied the energy and personal development techniques I learned and I have been rewarded for this by becoming increasingly happier, more confident, more peaceful and more relaxed within myself.

If you feel caged or trapped in your life, or even within yourself, I want you to know that it doesn’t have to stay that way.

Things can change and things will change if you choose to change it. If you make that decision.

Because when you make the decision that things are going to change you are then open to seeing what your next step is and you are able to take that very first baby step action towards becoming free and liberated from the self-imposed, and sometimes external but normally internal, shackles in your life.

I believe in you and I believe that you can do this. You can make this change if you really want to.

You are able to free yourself.
